Left At The Alter by Kimberley Kennedy

This is a true story about a woman whose husband-to-be decided not to marry her vitually at the last minute. The author, Ms. Kennedy, is an Atlanta TV celebrity who gained nationwide attention from her devestating rejecction at the alter. (Being an Atlanta celebrity made it impossible to keep secret, which even worsened the emotions of rejection and embarassment she felt.) The author writes her story and her account of how she recovered from such a devestating rejection to help other women - any woman who has experienced any level of rejection. A second title within the main title, "My Story of Hope and Healing For Every Woman Who has Felt the Heartbreak of Rejection" aptly describes the book.

The author describes not only the devestation she went through, but also how she recovered through her relationship with God. The author is honest about her emotions, even blaming God instead of her fiancee, for being left at the alter. Bible verses and stories of women in the Bible complement her insight on recovery from rejection.

The book is what I would consider a light read - easy to read and containing humor. The author has practical and helpful advice for women in all stages of a relationship with a man. I like the author's writing style, which speaks to you personally.

This is a practical book and one that extends healing to all women. A must for every woman's book shelf! Rejection hurts and the author has a biblically sound way to deal with rejection AND demonstrates how you can improve your relationship with God.
