Life, In Spite of Me by Kristen Jane Anderson with Tricia Goyer

An invaluable book about depression and suicide. The author details her fall into depression and her attempted suicide - a suicide that should have been successful. God had plans for the author and the author is honest about her struggle to overcome depression and the life altering injuries she suffered from her attempted suicide. The author also takes you on her personal journey of becoming a Christian and truly living her life for God.

If you are suffering from depression, this book can give you an abundance of hope. The author addresses the reader with things she wished people would have told her while she was suffering... this makes it also invaluable for those who want to help someone suffering from depression, as well.

This book is not only inspiring, but it confirms God has a plan for each of us. God truly cares of about every detail of our life! I won't give it away, but if you read this book, you will see evidence that God is present in our lives, even if we do not feel His presence. Evidence that God is watching over you every minunte of your life - God is with you! God is not some abstract God who is not apart of your life. Yes, you will find evidence of this in this book and that is so overwhelmingly comforting!

The author also provides information on the ministry God called her for - to provide support to those suffering from depression. There are people who care and want to help - no one has to go through it alone. I highly recommend this book.

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. This in no way influenced my review.
